You won’t feel out-of-place getting cosmetic treatments in South Korea – the country can be, to outsiders, obsessed by looks. You'll see adverts everywhere for cosmetic surgery clinics, beauty brands and the latest treatments to get you looking good. For many South Koreans, making the most of themselves is the norm; in fact, for some schoolgirls, cosmetic surgery is a rite of passage – a gift for graduating or passing exams.

This means that you will be in experienced hands. Although Botox is not an invasive treatment like surgery, it should be administered by someone who knows what they are doing. South Korea is an advanced country, with training and technology on a par with the West. In some cases in supersedes it – certainly from a technology standpoint. Technology giant Samsung is from here; it is one of the only countries in the world with 100 nationwide Mbit/s broadband, HDTV broadcasting and a network of high-speed trains allow people to travel quickly around the country.

Botox, short for Botulinum toxin, is a type of protein that is used to treat wrinkles. It works by temporarily paralyzing the muscles that cause wrinkles to form. The treatment is quick, easy, and can be completed in a matter of minutes.

When you visit a practitioner for Botox in South Korea, they will examine your face and help you determine which areas are good candidates for treatment. Botox is not effective for all wrinkles, so it's important to work with a qualified practitioner to ensure that you get the best possible results.

Before administering the Botox, a local anesthetic will be applied to the area to be treated to minimize any discomfort. Then, the skin will be wiped with an antiseptic to ensure that it is clean and free of bacteria.

The Botox is administered directly into the skin with a very fine needle, and each area will only take a few minutes to treat. After the treatment, you may experience some mild swelling or redness, but these side effects should subside within a few hours.

After the injection, it is common to experience some localized skin reddening, as well as slight swelling and bruising. These side effects will usually disappear fairly quickly, but if you want to calm down the redness after your treatment, you can wear a little makeup to cover it up. 

Many people find that the results of Botox last for several months, but the exact duration can vary depending on the individual and the treatment area. The treatment can be repeated as needed to maintain the desired effect.

The cost of Botox in South Korea is around 50% less than in Australia or New Zealand, for example. This is obviously an approximate estimate; Botox is charged per unit, so your overall savings will depend on how much you are receiving.
