The Cardiac Centre is based in Singapore and offers international patients a comprehensive Health Screening Service to identify and treat a range potentially fatal medical conditions.

The Cardiac Centre is located in Singapore and specializes in providing Health Screening Services and Executive Cardiac Screening for the early detection of “silent killer” medical conditions such as cancer, heart disease, diabetes and high blood pressure.

The Executive Health Screening programme at the Cardiac Centre is designed to identify illnesses or contributory factors which may cause a patient to become more susceptible to developing a serious medical condition. Gaining this knowledge can help patients reduce their risks and increase their chances of living a long and healthy life. Some examples of conditions that can be identified are Angina, Angioplasty, Cholesterol, Coronary Artery Disease, High Blood Pressure and Valvular Heart Disease.

All tests are carried out in the Centre’s Special Diagnostics department, where consultants have easy access to sophisticated equipment and have the option to make referrals to specialists within the same complex.

The screening process is very straightforward and provides patients with plenty of opportunity to discuss their results and health concerns with qualified specialists. The process consists of the following steps:

Discussion with a doctor regarding previous and present health.
A thorough physical examination.
Detailed laboratory testing (blood, urine and stool examinations)
Resting 12 lead Electrocardiogram (heart test).
Computerised Treadmill Exercise (TMX).
Chest X-Ray.
Full abdomen ultrasound.

The Cardiac Centre is overseen by Dr Leslie Lam, who graduated as a Doctor of Medicine from the University College Dublin in Ireland. He is an experienced and well-respected specialist in his field, with fellowships in several organisations, including The Royal College of Physicians in Ireland and The Academy of Medicine in Singapore.
