My name is Patricia Uribe Salazar, I am a retired elementary and middle school teacher. I devoted my life to work (in two schools), being a mother, a wife, a daughter, a sister and a housewife and forgot to take care of myself. I did everything to fulfil my roles, that I left no time take care of myself or exercise. I finally realized my health had deteriorated greatly, I weighed 117 kilos(257 lb), was diabetic and hypertensive with thyroid problems and had a brain tumor. I started to research medical specialists. 5 of the doctors I researched recommended that I have a bariatric surgery. I was fortunate enough to meet Dr. Eduardo del Villar a doctor and an extraordinary human being, who gave me back my life, since for my life, not the life I previously had which I was surviving but gave me back a full life. I had not realized that my obesity limited me. One year 10 months after surgery I weight 50 kilos less (110LBs), I am now very active, I travel, I do so many things that I could not have done before my surgery. I no longer take medication to control my glucose or hypertension.I was reborn the day of my surgery, and this will be the second year that I will celebrate my rebirth. I am a retired firefighter. In the early nineteen- nineties, I found myself involved in mockery on the part of my colleagues and bosses, as well as people in general because of my increasing weight. In 2010 I began to seek help taking into account the health problems that I had with morbid obesity grade III 160 kg (352 LBs), diabetes mellitus, sleep apnea, hypertension, joint pain, among others. I started my protocol in a public hospital, but I left because I was involved in an even more serious health problem, I had to undergo emergency surgery in the IMSS for sigmoid volvulus, where I had a colostomy ( The surgical wound due to my diabetes problem did not heal in eight months), so I had to retire from my job of 30 years in 2012. In 2014 I started the task of resuming the protocol of bariatric surgery. In October I was introduced to the surgeon Eduardo del Villar Madrigal MD and his team of specialists from the Metabolic and Bariatric Center. In December of 2014 I had a gastric bypass surgery. I considerably began to lose weight under the care and supervision of this team of professionals, so that almost a year after surgery my health problems have improved. In November of 2015 I performed another surgery that reconnected my colon. At the present time I weight of 90 kg (198 LBs), my blood sugar levels are normal, as is my blood pressure. I feel pretty good health and am no longer take any medication.

Hi, I'm Jesus and I now have a second chance to live a healthy life, until two years ago I was suffering from hypertension, hemorrhoids, high cholesterol, sleep apnea, circulation problems in legs, fatty liver, pre-diabetic and other symptoms that account for a disorder in my metabolism and that severely affected my quality of life. In an appointment with my family doctor I told him that I had an umbilical hernia and I was sent to surgery. When reviewing my medical history I was diagnosed with third-degree morbid obesity. Dr. Eduardo del Villar told me that to improve my health the only option was to have a Laparoscopic Gastric Bypass and that the preparation required both psychological and nutritional support. Today after 2 years of having undergone this procedure I have lost 38 kg (83LBs), Before I was a size 44 today I wear size 30 or 32 according to the cut of the pants, Before I had to wear an extra-large shirt size today I wear a small size. I have stopped taking a large quantity of medications, but the most important thing is that thanks to the support of the medical team and the support of my family I have recovered my health, my self- esteem, my physical condition, the possibility of enjoying my grandchildren for a longer time. I now have greater expectations of having a better quality of life! Today I have a different life thanks to the post-surgery accompaniment of the Team of Professionals of Bariatric Metabolic Center, headed by Dr Eduardo del Villar, who have oriented me to unlearn old eating habits and to re-educate myself in living a different way of life based on a new form of living which includes better nutritional, physical and psychological discipline.
