Eyebrow Lifts in Seoul - Medical Departures

Last fact-checked: 10 October 2020

Find out about eyebrow lifts in Seoul – the ultra-modern South Korean capital that promises world-class cosmetic results at competitive prices.

As we age everything starts to head south – and that includes the eyebrows. Sometimes, in extreme cases, they can drop so much that vision can be affected. For the majority of us, we look tired, older and even grumpy.

A brow lift can correct this through surgery, making us look younger and giving us back our self-confidence.

If you are considering your options for cosmetic surgery abroad then Seoul should be on your shortlist. It ticks all the boxes in terms of the quality of its healthcare facilities and there are JCI accredited hospitals here, as well as skilled surgeons with expertise just as good, if not better, than what you'd expect back home.

Seoul is very competitive in terms of prices – considerably less expensive than at home, and even less than some of its popular neighbours.

Seoul has grown into a modern city since hosting the Olympic Games in 1988. It has an excellent infrastructure with regard to transport; modern buildings sit alongside traditional wooden houses and alleys and whatever time of day or night you want something, Seoul can probably deliver.

It may not be as popular as some other Asian destinations, but it has just as much to offer – and high-speed trains can take you from here to some of the other more tranquil sights around the country – from breathtaking mountain vistas to uncrowded beaches.

You’ll find plenty of places to recuperate in after your eyebrow lift in Seoul.

What Is the Procedure an Eye Brow Lifts and How Long Does it Take?

There are a number of different techniques for performing brow lifts, dictated by your particular circumstances or your surgeon’s preferred technique.

  • Open Brow Lift: This involves making a long incision from temple to temple either along your hairline, or in a crease in the forehead. Loose skin is pulled upwards, removed and the remaining skin pulled tight and stitched.

  • Endoscopic Brow Lift: Using a laparoscope (a long thin tube with light and camera attached), small incisions are made across the scalp so that the laparoscope can be guided to the appropriate area. Your surgeon can see below the skin on a monitor from pictures beamed from the laparoscope and can perform the necessary surgery using this method.

  • Limited Incision: This technique is typically used for crow’s feet and uses a combination of the endoscopic brow lift and the open brow lift.

How Long Is the Recovery Time After an Eyebrow Lift?

Obviously, there will be some discomfort after the surgery, as well as bruising and swelling. You will need to take things easy but should start to feel considerably better after a week. Most people usually return to work then.

Strenuous activity, heavy lifting and vigorous exercise should all be avoided for at least six weeks.

How Much Does an Eyebrow Lift in Seoul Cost Compared to Australia and New Zealand?

From the moment I arrived on my first visit, the service has been impeccable. However, one minor issue was the temperature of the air conditioning, which I found to be a little too chilly for my liking.

While the service is generally very good, I found the air conditioning to be quite cold. I would have appreciated a slightly warmer environment, as the temperature was a bit sharp for my comfort.
