Rhytidectomy or facelift surgery consists of small incisions made at various places and the excess skin cut (along with extra fat or sagging muscles). The extra skin is cut away and pulled upwards. Then it is stitched back, with scars in places where they will be difficult to detect. The surgery is usually carried out under general anesthesia, though sometimes local anesthesia is used. The process takes one to three hours. For extensive surgery, an overnight stay is best. For a mini facelift, you may be able to return to your hotel in Pattaya after just a few hours.

Recovery time will vary. Usually, you can resume most normal activities within a day or two. Stitches will be removed after a week to 10 days.
