Thailand is the world’s most popular destination for cosmetic surgery, but you don’t have to go the whole hog – there are also plenty of non-surgical treatments to help you combat the signs of ageing.

There are a myriad of treatments available for targeting facial wrinkles, with newer products and techniques frequently coming to the market.

Here is an overview of the treatments available at our verified partner clinics across Thailand:

Cosmetic surgery in Thailand:

Cosmetic facial surgery is the most drastic way to combat wrinkles, but a full facelift (rhytidectomy) is not the only option these days. The facelift targets a number of signs of ageing, including sagging necks, double chins and jowls, as well as wrinkles and creases around the eyes, nose and mouth.

A facelift can be done as part of a facial rejuvenation, combined with other surgical and non-surgical treatments.

However, not everyone feels they want or need a full facelift, and there are other options to treat specific troublesome area – a lower lift targets the areas below the nose, including the neck and jowls, and there are procedures to help with the eye area, such as a brow lift or upper and/or lower eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty).

The point is that modern cosmetic surgery is not a one-size-fits-all fix, and providing you go to a reputable surgeon, tailor-made options will be suggested to you to help you achieve the result you want, whether it’s a full facelift or a neck lift.

Non-surgical treatments in Thailand:

Many of these non-surgical treatments are used in conjunction with surgical treatments for wrinkles, as well as on their own. Surgery improves the underlying structure, but the surface and texture of the skin can look better with these additional treatments.

Most of these treatments are temporary, although there are some permanent ones, so you will need to think as carefully about these as you would surgery.

Injectables:

These are the quick-fix treatments, taking minutes to do and showing noticeable results within a short time. Neurotoxins, such as Botox®, are the most popular. These paralyse the underlying muscle used in facial expressions. They are effective for laughter lines, crow’s feet and frown lines but not so good for lines that do not change, regardless of your expression. The treatments are temporary and require top-ups every few months.

Dermal fillers are the other range of injectables. These can be used for ‘static’ lines and plump up the skin to even out the wrinkles. Most of them are temporary, lasting from three months to a year, although there are some permanent ones. Some of the most popular brands are:

Resurfacing facial skin treatments:

The texture of your skin can be improved with resurfacing facial skin treatments. They work by helping to regenerate new skin and assisting in penetration of products to the deeper layers where they will be more effective. These include:

Most of these work by removing the damaged outer layer or layers of skin to reveal new, undamaged skin underneath. Some of them, such as laser resurfacing and dermal rolling, stimulate new collagen growth (the essential building block for skin, soft tissues and bone).

Dermal rolling is also good for product penetration, creating temporary tiny channels in the skin where products can be absorbed deep into the skin’s layers for maximum effectiveness.

How Much Can I Save in Thailand - And Where?

Our clients typically save at least 50% on cosmetic treatment in Thailand, with some able to save closer to 70% compared to those high prices back home.

This can amount to savings of a few hundred dollars for something like dermal fillers (thus not making a trip to Thailand especially for treatment not worthwhile); while for a more comprehensive procedure, such as a brow or neck lift, patients are able to save thousands, even when factoring in travel expenses.

Hugely impressed by this hospital. I had a quite tumour removed from my back and the treatment and care was world class. I was / am here on my own and far from home and it was the first time I've had a general anaesthetic, so i was quite apprehensive. There was no need. This is an excellent, diligent hospital with outstanding surgeons (Dr Apichart), anaethetist and nurses throughout the building. I couldnt have asked for a kinder, more comfortable and professional environment. Really recommended.
