Essentially, there are two types of forehead lifts:

Endoscopic Lift:

An endoscopic forehead lift entails a series of small incisions in the scalp that will allow your surgeon to insert a small camera into your forehead to study the structure underneath your skin. The procedure will be performed under a general anesthetic, so you will not feel any pain or discomfort during the operation, and small anchors will be utilized to lift and secure the skin which delivers a more natural outcome as there is no skin removal involved in the process.

Traditional Lift:

There is also the more traditional forehead lift technique available that entails one long incision that runs from the tips of both ears, through the hairline, to avoid any visible scarring. Lines and wrinkles are then smoothed out by lifting the skin, and the eyebrows will be repositioned to ensure a more natural-looking appearance.

In both instances, any incisions will be sealed with sutures, and the whole process should be completed in around two hours.

After your surgery:

-You can expect to have bruising and swelling in your upper face, especially around the eyes.

-The symptoms can last for around a week but should have subsided by the time you have the sutures removed a week after your procedure.

-You can bathe or shower 24 hours after your treatment, although you should try to keep any wounds dry and be cautious if using a hairdryer.

-You can undertake light activities within a day or two but you should refrain from any lifting or bending.

-You should be able to resume normal activities within around three weeks, although you should implement a little more caution with regards strenuous exercise and phase this back in around a month after your surgery.

-You should be fit to return to work within one week to ten days.
