A gastric bypass actually reduces the size of your stomach, so you’ll eat less and still feel full. Most patients’ weight gradually melts away as they consume far fewer calories. However, after gastric bypass surgery, it is still important to watch your diet by eating healthy to get all the nutrients you need, as well as avoiding high-calorie drinks that can negate the positive effects of less food.

How Long Does Gastric Bypass Surgery Take and What Is the Recovery Period?

Gastric bypass surgery takes between two and four hours, depending on what particular method is used.  The surgery consists of dividing the stomach into two parts, the small one which will hold the food and a larger pouch. The division is created either using staples or by complete separation. The small part of the stomach is connected to the middle part of the small intestine, bypassing the duodenum and the upper part of the small intestine.

Performed under general anesthesia, the surgery is complex and you will need to stay in the hospital for two to three days. If the surgery used this open method technique, recovery time can take as much as four weeks. Normally, however, it is performed laparoscopically in which only small incisions are made, this the recovery period is much quicker.

You will be out on intravenous fluids when you are at the hospital; this allows the stomach to heal faster. After that, you will be on liquid foods and then soft foods and gradually work your way to solids.

What Does Gastric Bypass Surgery Cost?

This can be an expensive surgery, particularly in countries like Australia where you can pay between AUD 16,000 to AUD 18,000. Depending on your current health condition, BMI and other variables, your insurance may pay for some of the costs of the surgery.

In Kuala Lumpur, you can pay between AUD 5,000 and AUD 10,000 without the need to go through insurance companies and any associated paperwork.

Leyla Arvas is a sweetheart... I follow her and her clinic on Instagram as well... I think both the cleanliness and hygiene of the clinic and the friendliness, charm and beauty of Ms. Leyla Arvas are enough to explain and understand everything... I give it a ten out of ten ????

I get laser epilation service from here. My skin is very sensitive. That's why I receive service from experts in a polyclinic environment, with the best devices. Mr. Alihan did his job meticulously since the first session. The sessions progress very quickly with his respectful and level-headed conversation. He is very careful about hygiene. I go to my sessions with peace of mind in the pandemic environment. Thank you Mr. Alihan and Quartz family.

Attention is top notch, and always a friendly welcome. I don't even want to say that my messages will be answered instantly.... I am a working mother... that appointment changes ten times, but my WhatsApp messages are still answered with the same interest and compassion (extra thx Gözde)?✌?

We have been attending the quartz clinic with my wife for a while. They do their job professionally with sincerity, keeping patient satisfaction at the forefront. We were examined personally by Ms. Leyla and we continue our procedures with her approval. We would like to personally thank Ms. Nil who accompanied us during this process ☺️
