Why a Hair Transplant?
A receding hairline and balding scalp is a common problem among men. Frankly speaking, not everyone can be a Jason Statham, who pulls off an undeniably cool look without hair on his head (his six-back and bulging biceps may have something to do with that, though...)
Hair loss makes some people feel and look old, leading to a loss of confidence and self-esteem. If you are also suffering from hair loss, and the prices are out of your reach, you may be interested in traveling to a foreign country where the price will be considerably less.
The International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS) has spotted a great increase in the number of hair transplant surgeries in recent years, and the procedure is becoming more and more popular, especially as celebrities who have had the treatment are bringing it to the public's attention.
The Philippines comprises thousands of islands, most of which are gifted with matchless natural beauty. The country is full of beaches, resorts, jungles and a lot of fun activities for visitors. Going to the Philippines for medical treatment allows patients to enjoy the scenic beauty of this country, along with the opportunity to avail international standards of healthcare for much lower prices as compared to Europe, the US, Australia and New Zealand. Please note: for surgery such as a hair transplant, you will need to fit in the holiday aspect of your trip beforehand.
Medical Departures can guide you through the whole process of booking and undergoing a hair transplant in the Philippines. We only recommend clinics that have been scrutinized by our staff to ensure that they are equipped with the latest medical facilities and are working in compliance with international standards of health services. Most of the staff in these clinics speak fluent English and you will not face any difficulty in communicating with them.
Our customer care staff is very friendly and caring – they are always ready to answer your queries and help you in arranging meetings and telephonic conversations with medical clinics. You can also discuss the modes of transportation, food and hotels to prepare yourself for your stay during the treatment.
As the name suggests, hairs are transplanted from one area on a person’s body to another area where hair growth is required. The skin with healthy hair growth is removed and further segregated into grafts. These grafts are planted in the area affected by hair fall.
The doctor will prescribe medicines to expedite post-surgical healing and to support the process of hair growth. The newly planted hair will fall out after a short time, but the roots will start getting nourishment from the skin and new hair will start growing within three to four months.
The hair transplant procedure can take up to a whole day - it depends on how extensive your treatment is. Your doctor will be able to give you more advice. You’ll be advised to rest and avoid strenuous activities for a week – after this duration doctor will check the wounds and if everything is normal, you’ll be allowed to go back to your normal routine.
As mentioned above, this means things like the beach, sightseeing (especially in this hot climate) and other holiday activities will be off-limits after surgery - but that doesn't mean you can't make the most of your time in the Philippines before your day of treatment.
